Sichuan Province – hometown of panda

Sichuan Province, abbreviated as Chuan or Shu, is a province in the southwest of the people’s Republic of China. Chengdu is the provincial capital and the largest city. Sichuan is known as the “land of abundance”.

Sichuan, referred to as Chuan or Shu for short, is located in the southwest of China, the provincial capital of Chengdu. Sichuan is one of the regions with the richest hydropower resources in China, with a large number of hydropower stations. The Yangtze River is the largest river flowing through Sichuan. There are many tributaries in Sichuan. Most of the lakes in Sichuan Province are distributed in the high mountains and plateaus in the West and northwest.

There are more than 1,000 large and small lakes in the province. The famous lakes include Qionghai Lake and Lugu Lake. The Ruoergai area in northern Sichuan is an important swampy wetland area in China.

Sichuan province belongs to three major climates, namely, the subtropical humid climate in the Sichuan Basin, the subtropical semi humid climate in the mountainous areas of Southwest Sichuan, and the alpine and plateau alpine climate in Northwest Sichuan, the overall climate is pleasant.

Sichuan cuisine is one of the four traditional Chinese cuisines and plays an important role in the history of Chinese cuisine. It has a wide range of materials, fresh and mellow taste, and is famous for its good use of spicy and spicy food. It combines the characteristics of southeast, Northwest and northwest with its unique cooking methods and strong local flavor. It is good at absorbing and innovating. Sichuan Opera is a shining pearl in the treasure house of Chinese opera. It has a long history and has preserved many excellent traditional plays, rich music and exquisite performing arts.

Sichuan is rich in tourism resources and is one of the important tourism destinations in China. Sichuan has complex geological structures and rich geological and geomorphic landscapes, almost including beautiful scenery except the sea.

Sichuan is one of the main habitats for giant pandas.
